Transformations of Equations
Throughout all the new math textbooks with the Common Core in mind, there is a big emphasis on tranformations in graphing. Left, right, up, down, stretch, compress ... the kids see (or we hope they see) the commonality in the equation structure that move the equation from the parent function. But it's so easy to forget exactly which component in the graph controls left and right, etc. Now there is an easy to use Ipad app that is wonderful as a demonstration tool for students to see ... using nice sliders to change the equation but and immediately seeing the graph move in the intended direction This app is good for students who might have an IPad also, as there is a quizzing mode to see if they "got it".
